OTC

Prednisolone

This was the drug patient bought without prescription, but it hit the wrong one. It is indeed dangerous to give steroid in someone with stable plaque psoriasis. But sometimes what to do, coming from the interior where the drug shops are the only cheaper way of getting treatment.

The old Chinatown

Jalan Kebun Sultan, the entrance to the so-called Chinatown. Not much of changes in term of buildings.
Used to be our favorite stores in Chinatown. Most of the old hawkers no longer there.
Took back my same favorite dishes, but unfortunately, the taste wasn't the same anymore, or may be I have forgotten.

Shopping haven

The Store, the first shopping centre I shopped in the first time I arrived 20 years ago, still standing tall. A&W still surviving, unlike in Pg.
Pantai Timur was my favorite because it has the best bargain.
New competitors in the vicinity now, with Parkson and Giant at KBCC.
This building was one the biggest snooker centre in town.

Shopping is so much convenient here and all are within walking distance. Can check out the price and compare before buying.

10 years

So much had changed in 10 years .....
At the busy junction on entrance to the heart of the city. The existence of KB Mall adds to the already congested areas. The waiting at the traffic light takes nearly 5 minutes. One can even finish reading few headlines in Mobilekini.
The old Yap's typewriter still standing ...
Driving along Sultan Ibrahim Road.
Temenggung Road, now one way.

Chulia Street

Thirty seven years, I literally grew up in Georgetown. Nothing much has changed in term of the buildings surrounding this area. That is why it is nostalgic.
Love Lane
The road we used to pass through to go to Muntri Street health clinic, previously known as old Lam Wah Ee Hospital.
'Lan Thit Kai' or scrap metal lane
The place my parents used to shop for cheap hardwares.
Chulia Street
Main road on a quiet early morning.
Carnarvon Street
End of the road meeting Chulia Street. Traders line the road making it a busy morning market. My parents seldom shopped here as the prices were a bit more expensive. Instead, we shopped more often at Chowrasta Market, also known as Indian market.
'Kou' Clinic
Now under major renovation it seemed. May have changed many hands. My mother used to call it dispensary 'Kou', but not sure whether the doctor's surname was Kou or not. This was our family clinic in the 1970s to 1980s. Somehow, it seemed, only medications from this clinic worked for me. After moving house, I still came back to this clinic until the doctor migrated. My mother used to praise the doctor, who was very polite and kind. Often, all the siblings got sick at time and the doctor would prescribed the same medications to all the siblings and charged one consultation only. We hardly find this type of doctor anymore.
